Implementation process

The implementation process consists of 5 phases, each of which must be approved by the customer.

  • ANALYSIS
In the Analysis Phase of the project, our client's process revision and company systems are completed. The "product" of this phase (key deliverable) is the Fuctional Requirements Document. The client has to revise and approve the document before continuing with the project. At this stage all special personalised features which need to be implemented in the Management System will be analysed and listed in the "Technical-Functional Document".Analysis will establish whether or not these features can be incorporated using standard applications or if they will need to be built into the Management System.
The main stages of the Analysis Phase are:
    • Objective sharing
    • Preparation and planning of the project
    • Installation of a prototype environment at the client's location
    • Training for Key Users on the Management System (Education) for new functions
    • Gathering of all principle and transactional data
    • Gathering of needs of key users by means of interviews and workshops
    • Signing of the Functional Requirments Document
    • Preparation and revision of functional needs.
  • DESIGN
In the Design Phase the Management System is drawn up and presented on the client's premises. The drawing proposed by the system becomes formalised in a document known as Functional Model Design with a software demonstration. The Guiding Committee is then presented the Definite Implementation Plan proposal which confirms the forecasted budget.
By means of the Guiding Committee, the client must approve the Functional Model Design and the Definite Implementation Plan before proceeding to the next stage of Development and Testing.
The main stages of the Design Phase are:
    • Conducting joint sessions regarding Application Design with the key user group
    • Prototyping of users' interface, video e printing
    • Finalisation of Data Migration and Integrated Systems data
    • Preparation of System Test plan
    • Preparation and presentation of the Functional Model Design document to the project team
    • Preparation and presentation of the Implementation Proposal to Management
    • Signing of the Functional Model Design and Implementation Proposal documents
    • Preparation of Software Detail Design and Development Plan
  • DEVELOPMENT & TESTING
During the Development & Testing phase, Axiante develops and tests any new personalisations deriving from the Management System; our clients' specificied functions are replicated in a prototype which is maintained alongside the existing system (the architectural characteristics of the new Management System are obviously respected).
If the total development time exceeds three weeks' work, it is split into "blocks" of two to three weeks. Each client is asked to test each block. During the Development and Testing phase the new Management System is set up on the clients' premises.
The main phases of Development & Testing are as follows:
    • Implementation of the new Management System on the clients' premises (setting up of the system and rules).
    • Development of personalisation in the new Management System (changes to charts, forms, process routines and so on).
    • Development of tools to convert data.
    • Development of a Management System interface with other systems.
    • Support given to users for test purposes (user tests and system tests).
To be noted: at this stage an outline is drawn up for data conversion.

  • ROLL-OUT
In the Concluding Phase, the Management System is fully installed on the clients' premises and an optional training is effected with the end users.
The main stages of the Concluding Phase are as follows:
    • Finalisation of the User Document.
    • Finalisation of the system set up.
    • Inserting or moving data highlighted in the previous phases (open games, archives, orders and so on).
    • Inserting or moving historical archives.
    • End user training.
    • Acceptance of transfering to the new system.
    • Active use (Live consultancy support for two weeks after active use).
  • SUPPORT ON GOING
Once the Management System has taken off, Axiante is willing to ensure the following: that an organisation's objectives are met, that the characteristics and functions of the system are understood and that the end users are trained, should they so desire.
Our "first line" telephone support is managed by our group of expert consultants who can also come to your premises if necessary.
Experience has taught Axiante that many new ideas come once the client has become familiar with the system and understood the flexibility it offers. The On going Support Phase allows the client the chance to optimise and add improvements to the Management System to its greater advantage.
